Sales Policy

Before inquiring about the purchase of a goat, please find yourself a veterinarian that treats goats and is willing to take you on as a client. While we are happy to mentor you on your goat adventure, we are not equipped to assist with veterinary emergencies.

All kids will be disbudded (unless polled) and tattooed, all wethers will be castrated before leaving. All goats 8 weeks old will be current on CDT vaccines, started on deworming program, and have mineral supplementation. Our prices start at $650 and increase depending on genetics and performance history.

Each goat that is sold as “registered” will be sold with registration or registrations will be submitted. The buyer is responsible for transfer fees and DNA (if applicable). Goats that are already registered cannot have their names changed per ADGA and AGS rules. You will receive the original registration paper. In order to have registration papers transferred to you, you must become a member of ADGA/AGS.

All Sales Are Final. All goats will be healthy upon leaving our farm. We cannot be responsible for an animal once it leaves our farm. It is in the buyer’s best interest to have their goat veterinary checked. Veterinary inspections can be arranged at the buyer’s expense. Transportation, all fees, and veterinary certificates required for interstate travel are the responsibility of the buyer.

Hidden Brook Acres reserves the right to retain any animal at any time for any reason. If a kid from a pairing becomes unavailable in this fashion, all money will be refunded to the buyer OR buyer may reserve/buy another goat with said funds. Hidden Brook Acres reserves the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason.

Moving a goat to a new home can be extremely stressful, especially for kids. Please be sure to transition over to new feed slowly with the feed that will be provided to you. This also can be true moving a new goat to new pastures and it is best to do so gradually. Offering supportive care such as probiotics may help. Stress can also trigger a coccidia bloom in young goats. Monitor your goats closely for signs of distress or scours. Monitor all wethers that have been castrated closely to be sure they are healing and that the procedure was effective. We highly recommend a veterinary check and fecal test within a month of bringing your new goat(s) home.

Buck Service

We offer buck service to approved does, tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johne's within 3 months of breeding. Buck service is $150 for three attempts to settle the same doe. If your doe does not settle after the third attempt or if you choose not to return for repeat breedings, there will be no refund. We maintain the right to refuse any breeding for any reason. Limited availability on service bucks. All bucks have DNA on file. Buck service memos are provided.

In our past experience it has been difficult to align breedings with true standing heats. In our personal opinion, owning your own bucks or syncing does for AI is a viable option.
